Terms of Service

Welcome to Fate. These Terms are the agreement between you and Fate when you use our app, website, and live-date features. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be legally allowed to enter this agreement in your country of residence.
• You cannot use Fate if you are a registered sex offender or have been convicted of a felony involving violence or sexual misconduct.
• You cannot use Fate if we previously terminated your account.

2. Your account

• Use your real name and a real, current photo of your own face.
• Complete face verification when prompted. Accounts that fail or skip verification have limited access.
• One person, one account. Don't share credentials.
• Keep your login safe. You're responsible for activity on your account.

3. How Fate works

Fate matches you with nearby people our algorithm thinks you'll click with, then puts you directly into a short live video date — no swiping. If both people tap "keep talking" at the end, you can continue the conversation in-app.

4. Your conduct

Full rules are in our Community Guidelines. In short, don't:

• Harass, threaten, or intimidate anyone.
• Send sexual content without consent, or any sexual content involving minors — ever.
• Impersonate another person, use AI-generated faces, or misrepresent your age.
• Solicit money, promote services, or run scams.
• Record, screenshot, or share another user's video, audio, or personal info without consent.
• Use bots, scrapers, or reverse-engineer the app.

5. Content you post

You keep ownership of your photos, bio, and messages. You give Fate a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and adapt that content solely to operate and improve the service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backup copies and anything already shared with other users.

6. Content from other users

Anything you see on Fate — profiles, messages, live dates — belongs to the person who shared it. Don't copy, share, or record it. Fate is not responsible for user-generated content and doesn't guarantee any relationship, chemistry, or outcome.

7. Paid features

Some features may require a subscription or one-time purchase. Prices and terms are shown at checkout. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Refunds are handled through the store you purchased from (Apple, Google, or our web billing partner), subject to that store's policies and applicable law.

8. Termination

You can delete your account any time from Settings. We can suspend or terminate your account if you break these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or the law, or if we reasonably believe you pose a safety risk to others.

9. Disclaimers

Fate is provided "as is." We don't guarantee matches, compatibility, safety of any person you meet, or uninterrupted service. We are not a background-check service. Always meet in public and tell someone where you're going.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Fate is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or reputation. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid Fate in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration in Delaware under the AAA Consumer Rules, and you and Fate each waive the right to bring or participate in a class action, except where prohibited by law. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of creating your account by emailing legal@fateconnect.app.

12. Changes

We'll notify you of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
