Safety Center

Live dating means real people on the other side of the camera. That's the whole point — and it's also why safety is our first job. Here's what we do, and what you can do.

What Fate does

Face verification

Every profile has to pass a live selfie check against the profile photo before that account can enter a date. It filters out bots, catfishes, and stolen photos before the call ever starts.

18+ only

Fate is strictly for adults. We enforce age at signup and remove accounts that misrepresent age.

Report on every date

A Report button is visible during and after every live date. Reports go to a human review queue. Serious reports (threats, minors, non-consensual sexual content) are prioritized and actioned within hours.

Block anytime

Blocking is one tap. Blocked users can't match with you, message you, or see your profile again — on any account tied to the same device or identity.

No recordings by default

Fate does not record your live dates. Recording, screenshotting, or sharing another user's video, audio, or messages without consent violates our rules and, in many places, the law.

What you can do

Before the date

  • Fill out your profile honestly — better matches, better dates.
  • Take the verification selfie in good lighting. It takes 15 seconds.
  • Pick a moment where you're comfortable being on camera.

During the date

  • You never have to answer anything. End the call any time.
  • Don't share your last name, address, workplace, or financial info.
  • If something feels off, tap Report. You can add context after.

Meeting in person

  • Meet in a public place — coffee shop, restaurant, park at daytime.
  • Tell a friend where you're going and when to expect you back.
  • Arrange your own transportation there and back.
  • Stay sober enough to trust your judgment.
  • If plans change, update the friend you told.

Reporting and blocking

Use the in-app report and block tools first — they give us the fastest context. For anything our team should see immediately (threats, minors, non-consensual imagery), email safety@fateconnect.app. Include screenshots or the other person's display name and the approximate time of the call.

If you're in immediate danger

Call your local emergency number first, then report to Fate so we can preserve records and take action on the account.
